Neurofeedback and Mental Health Counseling

Neurofeedback Brain-training is rapidly becoming an essential component of many mental health, psychiatric care, and substance abuse treatment programs.  We are constantly amazed at the results, as our client’s train their brains to produce balanced and self-regulated brain activity.  Starting a Neurofeedback program within an existing mental program doesn’t have to be difficult, we make it easy for treatment providers to easily, effectively, and profitably introduce neurofeedback within their clinical practices.

What is Brain Training with Neurofeedback?

EEG Neurofeedback Brain-training addresses the brain’s electrical brain activity, the electrical side of the chemical/electrical process known as neurotransmission.  Brain-training directly trains these electrical rhythms in self-regulation.  Neurofeedback addresses and correct brain dysregulation – Electrical activity imbalances that underly many mental health disorders.  Nearly everything from A-Z, ADHD to Schizophrenia, including anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, and many more.

How does it work?

We apply electrodes to the scalp to listen in on brainwave activity. Some frequencies are trained up and others, trained down, the frequencies we target and particular locations on the scalp are specific to the conditions and the individual . We present this information to the trainee in the form of images and music. The training process takes about 45 minutes and on average 50 sessions to shape the brainwave activity toward more desirable and more regulated performance. 

What about medication? 

With successful Neurofeedback training, the brain takes over more of the role of regulating itself and medications may be lowered and / or no longer needed.  (Consult your Physician).

Dr. Don is Las Vegas’ leading Neurofeedback therapist and teacher in the field.  The Las Vegas Neurofeedback Center offers a range of services.  We provide neurofeedback services as a sub-contractor with many mental health agencies in Southern Nevada.  We train technicians from agencies, and clinically supervise them until the agency therapist is qualified as a Board Certified Neurofeedback Therapist (Required by Medicaid).  We provide CEU courses approved by the NV MFT/CPC board.  And we provide the clinical supervision required by BCIA for both technicians and therapists.
